After creating the title treatments for all three Knives Out movies, Netflix approached us to design a playful new title treatment for their twisty party game Dead Man’s Party. We wanted a title that would fit seamlessly into the cinematic Knives Out world, while feeling distinctly game-like.

The cinematic titles sit on a sort of metaphorical bookshelf. They each evoke classic whodunnit novels with each title feeling distinct to its story, yet sitting comfortably next to each other on the shelf.

For Dead Man’s Party, we sit on a nearby game shelf — evoking the chunky type and bold fun of classic board games, with sharp serifs and icons adding a delicious sense of mystery and danger.
